Warehouses, courier hubs, cold stores and distribution centres lose stock at the loading bay and the gate, and disputes with customers and transporters are settled by footage. Cameras covering every door, every bay, the dispatch counter and the yard make each pallet's movement traceable from arrival to the truck. A large floor runs on IP cameras and PoE switches to one NVR, with a PTZ camera on the yard to follow vehicles and a camera positioned for number plates at the gate. We supply IP, PTZ and recorder systems for logistics sites across Pakistan, plan the camera count from your floor plan, and install in Lahore with a free site survey.
What the cameras should cover
- Loading and unloading bays, one camera per door
- Warehouse gates with number plates readable
- Racking aisles and the picking area
- Dispatch counter and the packing bench
- Yard, parking and the driver waiting area
- Cold-store doors and the generator or UPS room
Recommended setup
- IP cameras on an NVR for large floors, with PoE switches so each camera needs one cable
- Cameras aimed at each bay door and the dispatch counter, close enough to read labels
- A PTZ camera on the yard and a plate-reading position at the gate
- A UPS or inverter on the recorder and cameras, so recording continues during load-shedding
- Enough hard-drive space for the days of recording you need (we size the drive in days, not just terabytes)
- Remote viewing for the manager and the head office, with user accounts per supervisor
Questions from logistics clients
How many cameras does a warehouse need?
It depends on the number of doors, bays and aisles. As a rule: one per bay door, one per two aisles, one on the dispatch counter, two on the yard and one at the gate. A free survey in Lahore, or your floor plan on WhatsApp, gives the exact count.
Can you record clear footage of goods leaving?
Yes, by placing a camera on each bay door and the dispatch counter at a height where labels and faces are readable, with enough resolution (4MP or more) for the distance.
How long can the recording be kept?
As long as the hard drive allows: we size the drive in days, not terabytes, for the number of cameras and resolution you choose. 30 to 60 days is usual for logistics.
Can head office watch several warehouses?
Yes. Each site's NVR is viewed in one app, with separate logins for each supervisor and the head office.
Do you provide a quotation for management approval?
Yes, an itemised quotation.
